Picked up hire car- automatic! I've never driven one before. Once I stopped panicking the guy took me round the car park a couple of times and off I went, easy peasy.

Stunning coast but got myself onto the motorway to Split, fabulous mountains but couldn't stop for photos. Signs warning of bears and wolves.
Some trouble finding a room, hotel £90, eventually stayed in 101 Dalmation (islands, not dogs) Hostel. Brand new, super comfortable/ clean. Had an 8 bed dorm to myself, £11.
